Repairing a damaged tooth or replacing a missing one, with every crown, bridge and implant matched to the color and shape of your own teeth.
What restorative dentistry includes
Restorative dentistry repairs teeth that are damaged and replaces teeth that are missing, so you can chew comfortably and smile without thinking about it. It covers crowns for cracked or heavily filled teeth, bridges and implants for missing ones, dentures and partials, extractions when a tooth can’t be saved, and night guards that protect your teeth from grinding.
At Pearl, every crown, bridge and implant is matched to the color and shape of your own teeth, so the repair doesn’t show. Dr. Colby is certified through Hiossen for dental implants, and we make dentures and partials for our patients.
“I’ve had quite a bit of dental work done with them, including Invisalign, fillings, and a tooth extraction, and they’ve been great every step of the way.”
Treatments in restorative dentistry
- Crowns & bridgesA cracked or worn tooth made strong again, or a gap filled, with work matched to the color and shape of your own teeth so the repair doesn’t show.
- Dental implantsA missing tooth replaced with one that looks, feels and works like your own, planned without rush and matched to the teeth beside it.
- ExtractionsWe try to save your tooth first. If it has to come out, you’re fully numbed, nothing is rushed, and you’ll know what replaces it before it’s gone.
- Dentures & partialsDentures and partials that look like your own smile, with teeth chosen for your face and a fit we adjust until it feels like yours.
- Night guardsA thin guard made to fit your teeth, comfortable enough to sleep in, so grinding wears the guard instead of your enamel. We’ll help you find out why you grind, too.
Do I need to replace a missing tooth?
Even one at the back is usually worth replacing. The teeth beside the gap tend to drift into it, the tooth above or below can grow down into the space, and the jawbone where the root was slowly shrinks. Over time that changes your bite and makes the gap harder to fill. An implant, a bridge or a partial each stops it; which suits you depends on the teeth around the gap and the bone beneath it.
Every option explained before you choose
If your own tooth can be kept, a crown usually keeps it. If it can’t, the choice is between an implant, which replaces the root and stands on its own, and a bridge or partial, which rests on the teeth beside it.
We show you your X-rays and walk you through each option, the timeline and the cost before you decide anything, so you choose knowing what each one means for you.
